The S9+ is a new design by iRobot that is focused on improving edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that has an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes this will allow it to be able to hug walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are standard, but we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an advanced filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. We think this is a nice claim, but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system employs sensors that keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology for mapping the interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your whole home efficiently possible.
